The First Ironclads - Into the Modern Era

The story of the vessels that changed ship design forever: the Monitor, the Merrimack and an animated reconstruction of their epic battle during the American Civil War. It also includes footage from aboard the world's most devestating sailing ironship the HMS Warrior.

The Ghost Ships of Truk Lagoon - Operation Hailstone

The Ghost Ships of Truk Lagoon tells the dramatic and powerful saga of the Japanese navy of World War II. The programme tells of the fleet's destruction during Operation Hailstone in 1944 and takes you on underwater dives to visit the almost perfectly preserved wrecks of ships and war material.

U-Boat 534 - Echoes from the Ocean Floor

One of Germany's much-feared U-Boat wolf packs, the U-534 was sunk on the final day of World War II. Special permission was needed for film footage to be shot inside the submarine and it is the first time for 50 years that anyone has boarded the vessel. This is a memorable snapshot of life on board a U-Boat and brings an eerie background to one of WWII's most compelling stories.
